Signage & Wayfinding — Apollo Health Clinics

Client

Apollo Health Clinics, a chain of diagnostic and outpatient clinics with 12 locations across Mumbai.

Problem

Each clinic had been signed independently over the years — different signage vendors, different materials, different lettering. Patients navigating a clinic for the first time couldn't tell reception from the pathology wing, and the inconsistency made a multi-site healthcare brand look fragmented. The chain needed one signage and wayfinding system, applied identically across all 12 sites, without closing a single clinic during installation.

Solution

Gravitas India designed a single signage and wayfinding system — external identification, reception identifiers, departmental directionals, and safety-adjacent signage — specified for the materials, finishes, and mounting conditions of each site, then produced and installed it across all 12 clinics in a carefully sequenced rollout. Patients now move through any clinic with the same visual language guiding them.

Implementation / Technical Approach

  • Site-by-site surveys — every location measured and photographed first, so artwork was produced to actual mounting surfaces, not assumed dimensions.
  • Material specification — substrates and finishes selected per site condition (exterior exposure, interior lighting, wall type), with a single approved spec sheet governing all vendors.
  • Sequenced rollout — installations scheduled clinic-by-clinic in off-hours, so no site ever paused patient services.
  • Consistent production — artwork, colour, and typography locked to the brand guidelines and printed to a single production standard across all 12 sites.
  • Installation verification — post-install sign-off at every location with photographic documentation against the spec.

Clinic Closures

All 12 sites were signed to a single standard in under three weeks, with zero clinic closures and zero rework — every installation passed verification on the first pass. Patient feedback in the months after flagged the new wayfinding as a visible improvement, and the clinic chain finally presents one brand across every location.
